It looks like I've triggered an algorithm that has identified me as someone who consistently tries to manipulate the percentages either up or down. Oh, well.....

I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
Restaurant to Another World (TV) Excellent (dub & sub)

Interestingly enough, Rebecca Silverman reviewed Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma 2 years prior to reviewing this show. She called that series shounen.

Restaurant to Another World (TV 2) Masterpiece (dub & sub)

Normally, I try to be sparing with 11/11 ratings, but I also believe in Tristan "Arkada" Gallant's belief in that, "The ending is paramount," and this 2nd cour ends on such a high note that I feel compelled to award this a "Certified Frosty™".
Revolutionary Girl Utena (TV) Excellent
Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie Very good (dub & sub)
Revue Starlight (TV) Excellent (dub), Masterpiece (sub)

  1. Well, this is different; fantasy and reality are comingled.
  2. Well, the humor is surprisingly effective.....
Audition #2: More is revealed about the various personalities.
  3. 07:00| mark is the paper airplane supposed to be symbolism?
The last two seconds have interesting symbolism!
  4. So the other six try to cover for the two delinquents!
  5. Friendship & Confidence are restored.
  6. Kaorukko vs. Futaba: Their history is explained.
    • 2 students leave the academy at the end of the 1st year.
    • What is Nana Daiba experiencing?
    • Read Steve Jones' review.
  7. This episode seems to be about Hikari Kagura.
    • The play is a tragedy.
    • Nana learns from both Karen and Junna that change ─ and growth! ─ are inevitable.
  8. Hikari betrays Karen's trust.
  9. Hikari disappears; Karen eventually locates her.
  10. The giraffe breaks the 4th wall.
Ride Your Wave (movie) Masterpiece (dub & sub)
  • CON: The comment at 0:01:45 does not make sense.
  • Ambivalence: The action scene from 1:22:10 to 1:27:50 may be a turn off; you have been warned.....
  • Definitely displays influence of Lu over the wall (movie).
  • Pro: The mains are not high school students!
  • Pro: Cute couple.
  • Pro: 0:49:00 | Hinako's joy is just so infectious.
  • 1:27:45 references 0:01:39
  • Because of the last five minutes I am rating the dub at 11/11 (Masterpiece).
  • ADR Director: Stephanie Sheh
Rideback (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
Rilakkuma and Kaoru (stop-motion ONA) Masterpiece (dub & sub)
Go to Slice-of-life (public)
Ringing Bell (movie) Masterpiece
It is good! (Just not for young children, though.)
48 min.s
Robotech (U.S. TV) Very good (dub & edit.dub)
  • Would've rated it higher, 'cept it sorta' petered out during the last part of the series.
  • What sticks in my mind all of these decades later is how:
    1. The animation completely blew the animation of G.I. Joe out of the water;
    2. There were real character deaths; and
    3. Protagonists actually discussed the morality of war.
Those things never occurred on G.I. Joenever.
To observe without the prism of nostalgia.
Rocket Girls (TV) Very good
Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers (TV) Good
Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise (movie) Very good (dub & sub)
I am seriously conflicted about the character Shitotsugh Lhadatt. The only reason that that I rated it as high as I did was because of the character Riquinni Nonderaiko. The animation, for it's era, is quite interesting.
Rumbling Hearts (TV) Very good
This is for people who like drama; those who need action in their anime will be turned off.
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) Very good
