Anime Detour Holds Fundraiser for Voice Actress Carrie Savage

The non-profit corporation Anime Twin Cities Inc. and its convention Anime Detour are holding a fundraiser for voice actress Carrie Savage, who was recently diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. The disease has begun to interfere with Savage's side work as a waitress, and Anime Detour is calling for donations to alleviate Savage's financial hardships. The charity's stated goal is US$6,000.
Savage has had a prolific career in anime voice acting, including roles such as Junko Kaname in Madoka Magica, Solty Revant in Solty Rei, Fuko in I, My, Me - Strawberry Eggs, Rakka in Haibane Renmei, Lua Klein in Baccano!, Hakufu in Ikki Tousen, Nancy in R.O.D -The TV-, Maromi in Paranoia Agent, Shima in Stellvia, Nina in Ultra Maniac, Mokona in xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, and Angol Mois in Sgt. Frog. She has also written adapted scripts for School Rumble and Shuffle!, and has assisted in directing Shuffle!, Ouran High School Host Club, and other projects.
Savage has been a repeat guest at Anime Detour since the convention began in 2004. She will appear at Anime Conji this weekend in San Diego.
