Comedy anime about misadventures of 4th-grade boy premieres this spring
The public broadcaster NHK's official website for the anime adaptation of Tobira Oda's Danchi Tomoo comedy manga began streaming a promotional video on Monday.
The manga centers around the daily life of Tomoo Kinoshita, a fourth-grade boy who lives in an apartment complex with his mother and big sister. With his father away on a long-term work assignment, Tomoo gets into one misadventure after another with his friends, classmates, and other people in his complex.
Oda launched the manga in Big Comic Spirits in 2003, and Shogakukan will publish the 21st compiled book volume on January 30. The manga was nominated for the prestigious Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prizes in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
