Tezuka Cultural Prize Nominees for Manga Announced

ComiPress reports that Asahi Shimbun has announced the nominees for the 11th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes on its website. The newspaper celebrates works that follow the tradition of "The God of Manga," Osamu Tezuka, by awarding four annual prizes: the Manga Grand Prize, New Artist Prize, Short Work Prize, and Special Prize. Each prize includes a statuette, a certificate, and 2 million yen (about US$17,000, for the Manga Grand Prize) or 1 million yen (about US$8,400, for each of the other three prizes).
