Kick-Heart's Masaaki Yuasa Appearing at Los Angeles Con

Kaiba director joins Eun Young Choi, Stephen Weese, Richard Epcar for Kick-Heart panel on Saturday

The official website for California's Anime Los Angeles lists director Masaaki Yuasa as a guest. Yuasa will appear at the "Kick-Heart Crowd Funded Anime" panel with fellow Kick-Heart staff members — color key artist Eun Young Choi, English dub co-producer Stephen Weese, and voice actor Richard Epcar — on Saturday.

The Kickstarter fundraiser for Production I.G and Yuasa's Kick-Heart anime short reached its main goal of US$150,000 on October 24. Richard Epcar is lending his voice to the English dub, while the audition winners for the backer dub were announced last week. Stretch goals increased the short's runtime from 10 minutes to 12 minutes.

Yuasa is also known for directing The Tatami Galaxy, Mind Game, and Kaiba. Choi has worked as a key animator on The Tatami Galaxy, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, Black Cat, Casshern Sins, and Black Lagoon.

Other guests include voice actors Patrick Seitz, Johnny Yong Bosch, Ezra Weisz (Ethan Murray), Kaiji Tang, Lucien Dodge, and Edward Bosco, and voice actresses Danielle McRae, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Laura Post, Kira Buckland, Kimlinh Tran, and Sarah Williams.

Anime News Network's Justin Sevakis and Zac Bertschy will host a live recording of ANNCast on Saturday.

Anime Los Angeles will be held on January 4-6 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.
