I.G, Masaaki Yuasa's Kick-Heart Anime Adds 2 Minutes

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Production I.G and Masaaki Yuasa's Kick-Heart anime has surpassed its supplementary fundraising "stretch goal" of US$175,000 on Monday, and therefore will now be extended by two minutes to 12 minutes. The latest "unlocked" fundraising target, which includes Paypal funds not listed on the official website, also adds Spanish subtitles to the anime.

If the goal of US$200,000 is reached, a special "backer dub" audio track will be produced at the same time as the English dub. This backer dub will let a select number of reward purchasers voice characters in the film as a secondary audio track.

Two new, last-minute awards were added to the campaign, as well. The rewards for a US$70 pledge will include the Kick-Heart Blu-ray Disc, a Kick-Heart (1080p) digital download, a "Making of Kick-Heart" (Blu-ray and Digital Download) video, a digital download version of the soundtrack, and everything listed as rewards for the lower pledges. Backers who selected a reward prior to this upgrade will be upgraded automatically. A US$2,000 reward offers one backer the opportunity to wrestle with the Kick-Heart anime staff at a pro-wrestling match in Tokyo during the cherry blossom season. The price of travel and accommodation are not included in the award.

The update also teased that the short that will be screened at "Tachikawa Anican x Production I.G Night" on November 10 is a work-in-progress version.

The fundraiser for the Kick-Heart anime reached its main goal of US$150,000 at about 9:30 p.m. EDT last Wednesday. The fundraising ends this Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. EDT.
