The September issue of Gentosha's Monthly Comic Birz magazine announced on Monday that manga creator Yukiru Sugisaki (D.N.Angel, Lagoon Engine) will launch the Junkissa Neko manga series in the next issue on August 30.
Sugisaki just debuted the 1001 (pronounced Knights) series in Monthly Asuka magazine in June. The story centers on twins transported to the Arabian world of One Thousand and One Nights.
Asuka serialized D.N.Angel, which Tokyopop published in North America. Xebec studio adapted D.N.Angel into a television anime series in 2003, and A.D. Vision and Discotek Media released the anime for North America. The Lagoon Engine manga was also published by Asuka magazine and Tokyopop, and its spinoff, Lagoon Engine Einsatz, ran in A.D. Vision's Newtype USA magazine. Tokyopop also released Sugisaki's Candidate for Goddess and Rizelmine manga in North America.
