Japanese Anime DVD Ranking, April 25-May 1
posted on by Egan Loo
Code Geass #4 tops all DVDs, including Letters from Iwo Jima
The last week of the month is the usual time for Bandai Visual and Aniplex DVD releases, and it shows with those two companies racking up six of the top ten DVDs. On top are the usual suspects: the latest Code Geass robotic mecha war volume from Sunrise and CLAMP, and the latest Freedom space opera volume from Katsuhiro Ōtomo. In fact, Code Geass was #1 for all DVDs in Japan last week, beating out #2's Letters from Iwo Jima. Freedom was #4, just below The Devil Wears Prada, for all DVDs. Aniplex attracts Bleach fans to the DVD of the anime-only Bount arc's episodes 105 through 109 with two drama CD extras.
