Jump Music Festa Adds Keyakizaka46, Sakanaction, Leo Ieiri, More Musical Performers

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

July's Jump Music Festa two-day concert event added its next round of musical guests to the line-up. The concerts, which already include KANA-BOON, BiSH, Kishidan, Little Glee Monster, GRANRODEO, SPYAIR, FLOW, DISH//, and Hiroshi Kitadani announced idol group Keyakizaka46, super band Sakanaction, singer Leo Ieiri, Thinking Dogs, and 04 Limited Sazabys will perform at the event.

Keyakizaka46 is a sister idol group of Nogizaka46, which is in turn a spinoff "rival" group of the popular AKB48. Together, they earned the New Artist of the Year award for Japanese artists at The Recording Industry Association of Japan's (RIAJ) Japan Gold Disc Awards for 2017.

Rock band Sakanaction has performed theme songs for the live-action Bakuman. film and Kin Kyori Renai live-action film. The group made their major debut in 2007 and their most recent album is a collection of their top hits titled Uozukan. Sakanaction's nationwide tours regularly sell out with 60,000 fans turning out for their performance in 2017.

Leo Ieiri performed ending themes for Toriko and Dragon Ball Z Kai. She made her major debut while still attending high school in Tokyo in February 2012. Her first album LEO held the second place spot on Oricon's chart for two straight weeks. Ieiri was the winner of the 54th Japan Record Awards' Best Rookie Award.

Rock band Thinking Dogs performed the ending theme "Sonna Kimi, Konna Boku" for the Naruto Shippūden television anime as well as other themes for Japanese television dramas and films. The four-member group made their major debut in 2015.

04 Limited Sazabys has performed throughout Japan since 2008 but didn't release their first full album until 2015 followed by a second full album, eureka, in 2017. The group's single "My Hero" served as the theme song for the TV drama Oh My Jump!.

Jump Music Festa will take place at Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa on July 7-8. The event marks the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. Other celebrations for the magazine's 50th anniversary include a three-part art exhibition, two mix CDs, a café, reprintings of landmark issues, a manga contest, and T-shirts from UNIQLO.
