Fans Choose Top 10 Unreasonably Violent Female Characters

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Who was the first female anime character to give a protagonist a sky-flying punch over a simple misunderstanding? Was it Naru Narusegawa or Akane Tendō? It's a gag that's long outlived its welcome, but so long as there are accidental bathroom peeping or unannounced room sharing, punches will be thrown. The website Goo Ranking asked its readers to choose the most unreasonably violent female anime characters. Topping the list is the self-proclaimed "Queen of Kabuki District" Tae Shimura. Tae is more or less a bouncer for a cabaret and has managed to work herself into the Shinsengumi as an honorary boss. She's quick to anger, especially with Isao Kondo who she refers to as a "gorilla-like stalker."

The full list:

  1. Tae Shimura (Gintama)
  2. Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
  3. Fumino Serizawa (Mayoi Neko Overrun!)
  4. Lum (Urusei Yatsura)
  5. Asuka Langley Shikinami (Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance)
  6. Chitoge Kirisaki (Nisekoi)
  7. Mahiru Inami (Wagnaria!!)
  8. Sakura Haruno (Naruto)
  9. Kaori Makimura (City Hunter) tie
  10. Hana Midorikawa (Prison School) tie
