Lots of Anime, but no Blockbusters
The entire Fantasia 2004 program is now available in print and on their website. The following anime will screen at this year's festival:
Dead Leaves
Malice@Doll
Angel's Egg
Paranoia Agent
Porco Rosso
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Band of Ninja (based on the manga "Ninja Bugeicho" by Sanpei Shirato)
Tokyo Godfathers
Hamtaro
Goldorak
Hello Kitty's Paradise
Other movies of interest include the following Japanese live action movies:
The original 1954 Godzilla
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
Ritual (directed by Hideaki Anno)
Ju-on
Cutie Honey
Ultraman Cosmos vs. Ultraman Justice: The Final Battle
Azumi (based on the manga of the same name)
Ping Pong (based on the manga by Matsumoto Taiyo)
France's Arzak Rhapsody (Based on the comic serialized in Metal Hurlant / Heavy Metal) and Korea's highly acclaimed Wonderful Days will also be shown at the festival.
Unfortunately this year's festival is devoid of any of this summer's blockbuster anime movies such as Steamboy, Innocence and Appleseed.
