SaikouCon 2014 Signs The Asterplace to Perform at Cosplay Concert
NYC Based Band Will Share SaikouCon Stage with The Adarna from Seattle, WA
4/29/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention.
Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania.
The convention promises to remain very hands and attendee friendly every year, also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2014.
SaikouCon is happy to have NYC J-Rock band, The Asterplace, join the convention's 2014 Cosplay Concert. The Asterplace will be opening for The Adarna at the concert. The Cosplay Concert once again takes the place of a traditional cosplay masquerade or formal ball, as many other anime conventions hold each year. In future years at larger venues, SaikouCon may add these classic anime con tropes to their programming, but space and schedule restraints don't allow for it in 2014. The Asterplace is Tokyo Melodic Core / Japanese Anime Rock Band from Japan, based in New York City. Performing worldwide Rock festivals and Anime or Comic conventions. Their band name “The Asterplace" means creating beautiful music as like flower blossoming every year and the origin of the name came directly from their beautiful melody of music. As the sun shines in the world, as the moonlight at the sky, The Asterplace plays music toward the world.
SaikouCon's Guests of Honor for 2014 include RuffleButt Cosplay (formerly known as AnimeAngel and perhaps best known by her real name, Jessie Pridemore), Greg Houser (Evangelion, Shiki, One Piece, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, and more), Bill Rogers (Pokémon, Boogiepop Phantom, Gravitation, and more), Marc Swint (Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Anime Abandon), Sonny Strait (Dragon Ball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Black Butler, Lupin III, One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Fairy Tail).
Featured Guests for SaikouCon 2014 are the Sci-Fi Photo Guys, the League of Hot Geeks, Cosplay Burlesque, and the Gamers! Edge from Stroudsburg, PA will be demoing various CCGs and leading games over the course of SaikouCon 2014.
Musical Guests confirmed to perform thus far are The Adarna who will be headlining this years Cosplay Concert as well as giving a special solo performance following SaikouCon 2014's Opening Ceremonies. Members of the band will also be presenting feature panels and workshops over the course of SaikouCon 2014.
