SaikouCon 2014 Closes Artist Alley Registration Earlier than Expected
Convention Announces that all 25 Artist Alley Spaces are Filled
3/3/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention.
Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is
excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania.
The convention promises to remain very hands and attendee friendly every year, also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2014.
SaikouCon executive coordinator, Michael Meade, is pleased to announce that Artist Alley for SaikouCon 2014 has been completely filled! 25 spaces in total were available this year to ensure that the 10 X 10 spaces offered to artists and vendors are in fact 10 X 10, this decision was made after a slight miscommunication between the convention's venue and convention organizers led to merchant spaces being closer to 8 X 5. SaikouCon's organizers are pleasantly surprised that their Artist Alley has filled up so quickly in the Lehigh Valley based anime convention's second year.
Vendor spaces in the Dealer Room are filling in quickly too, as of this press release there 11 spaces left in SaikouCon 2014's Dealer Room. To register for a space while there's still room check out www.saikoucon.com/vendors.html.
Meade had this to say at the news of Artist Alley's fast registration fill in; “I'm very excited and appreciative of the support from the fandom artists that have chosen to be part of SaikouCon 2014! It really is an honor to have you all want to be part of this crazy idea that blossomed into a full scale event! Without the warm support we received during our first show in 2013 and continued support as we pull together our second year, SaikouCon would not be happening; our success is your success too. It's easy to forget, with all the work that conventioneers put into our shows, we're not alone in making these shows happen, but we always try to keep that in the forefront of every staff member and volunteers mind that without fans, attendees, dealers, and of course artists; conventions would not exist. Once more, thank you all for being part of awesomely crazy ride and helping to make it the best con it can be as we continue to evolve and think outside the box while still embracing convention traditions and expected norms. Thank you all!”
SaikouCon's Guests of Honor for 2014 include RuffleButt Cosplay (Jessie Pridemore), Greg Houser (Evangelion, Shiki, One Piece, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, and more), Bill Rogers (Pokémon, Boogie Pop Phantom, Gravitation, and more), Marc Swint (Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Anime Abandon), Sonny Strait (Dragon Ball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Black Butler, Lupin III, One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Fairy Tail).
