Viz to release Venus In The Blind Spot manga in fall 2020, Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show in summer 2020

Viz Media announced during its panel at Anime NYC on Sunday that it has licensed Junji Ito's Venus In The Blind Spot manga collection and Hideki Gotō's Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show manga.

Viz will release Venus In The Blind Spot (Ito Junji Ni Tanpenshū BEST OF BEST) in fall 2020. The company describes the manga collection:

This ultimate collection presents the most remarkable short works of Junji Ito's career, featuring an adaptation of Rampo Edogawa's classic horror story “Human Chair” and fan favorite “The Enigma of Amigara Fault.” In a deluxe presentation with special color pages and color illustrations from his most recent long-form manga NO LONGER HUMAN, every page invites readers to revel in a world of terror.

Shogakukan released the collection in Japan on February 28.

The company will release Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show (Splatoon Ikasu Kids 4-Koma Fes) in summer 2020. Viz describes the manga:

New Inklings take center stage as they and their friends embark on hilarious escapades in the world of Splatoon, the hit video game series from Nintendo!

Gotō launched the manga in the April 2017 issue of Shogakukan's Bessatsu Coro Coro Comic Special magazine. The series' third compiled book volume shipped on May 28.

Hinodeya initially published a Splatoon one-shot manga in Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine in May 2015. Hinodeya's manga series then began in Bessatsu Coro Coro Comic Special in February 2016, and also launched in Coro Coro Comics in May 2017. The manga has inspired a voiced motion comic and a full-color version. Shogakukan published the 10th compiled volume on October 28. Viz Media is releasing the manga in North America.

Nintendo released the first Splatoon game for the Wii U in May 2015, and the Splatoon 2 sequel launched for the Nintendo Switch in July 2017. The first game also inspired Kino Takahashi's Honobono Ika 4-Koma manga and the Play Manga story collection by various artists. Hinodeya also drew a one-shot for Splatoon 2.
