posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The March issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine published a pamphlet on Wednesday that features a one-shot manga adaptation of Nintendo's upcoming Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch game. Sankichi Hinodeya drew the manga. At the end of the one-shot, it notes that serialization will begin "soon." The entire pamphlet with the one-shot manga is available online.
The game is slated for release this summer.
Nintendo released the first Splatoon game for the Wii U in May 2015. The game centers on "Inklings," who are beings who can transform between human and squid form. The game pits players in a fight for territory as two teams fight to cover their battlefield with their respective paint colors.
The previous game received two manga adaptations. Kino Takahashi launched the Honobono Ika 4-koma manga, while different manga creators contributed stories to Play Manga. Hinodeya also published a one-shot manga based on Splatoon in Coro Coro Comics in May 2015.
Splatoon previously collaborated with manga creator Masahiro Anbe (Squid Girl) to promote the game.
