Elex Media Licenses Tani Yutaka's Detective Conan Spinoff Novel

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Novel centers on Conan, Junior Detective League finding Takeda Shingen's lost treasure

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced last week that it has licensed Tani Yutaka's Meitantei Conan: Kōshū Maizōkin Densetsu (Detective Conan: The Legend of the Kōshū Buried Treasure) spinoff novel of Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan manga.

Elex Media describes the novel:

Conan and his friends, along with Professor Agasa, find themselves lost on the road deep in the mountains. Unexpectedly, they get involved in a case related to Takeda Shingen's lost treasure. Ai and Ayumi are also kidnapped by two mysterious men! Will they survive? Now Conan has to solve the mysterious code that will lead to the location of the treasure!

The novel debuted in 2005, and is the first of two spinoff novels that Yutaka penned for the franchise. The second novel is titled Meitantei Conan: Satsujin Symphony (Detective Conan: Murder Symphony), and it debuted in 2006. Yutaka also drew the illustrations for the novel, and Aoyama supervised the novels.

Elex Media also releases the Detective Conan manga in Indonesia, and it released the manga's 91st volume last July.
