Konami Unveils Metal Gear Survive PS4/Xbox One/PC Game With Trailer
posted on by Karen Ressler
Konami announced on Wednesday that it is developing a four-player stealth co-op game titled Metal Gear Survive. The game is slated for 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Video game news source IGN streamed the game's trailer:
The game's story is set after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and follows members of Militaires Sans Frontières who are transported to an alternate universe where they must battle a biological threat. Konami calls the game "a new addition to the Metal Gear Solid V experience."
Metal Gear Survive is the first Metal Gear console game to be announced since series creator Hideo Kojima's departure from Konami. The rights to the Metal Gear Solid name remain with Konami, and Konami began hiring staff for a new Metal Gear title in December.
Konami's KPE is also developing a pachi-slot (pachinko/slot) game titled Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater.
Kojima's last Metal Gear title with Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, shipped for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC in September. Konami sold more than six million copies.
