Konami's KPE Reveals Metal Gear Solid Pachi-Slot Game

posted on by Karen Ressler
1st Metal Gear game since series creator Kojima left Konami

KPE, the pachinko and pachi-slot machine game maker in the Konami Group, unveiled a teaser website and trailer on Thursday for a Metal Gear Solid pachi-slot (pachinko/slot) game titled Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. The game will have 32-inch full HD screens, and is slated for this fall.

Konami UK Community Manager Graham Day stated in September that the Metal Gear Solid franchise will continue without series creator Hideo Kojima, who left Konami last year and started his own company. The rights to the Metal Gear Solid name remain with Konami, and Konami began hiring staff for a new Metal Gear title in December.

KPE filed a trademark for "Big Boss," the name of a Metal Gear franchise character, in the field of games on September.

Kojima's last Metal Gear title with Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, shipped for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC in September. Konami sold more than six million copies.
