World Trigger Anime Casts Umeka Shouji, Houko Kuwashima, Chihiro Ikki as Nasu Squad

This year's combined 37th/38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Umeka Shōji, Houko Kuwashima, and Chihiro Ikki will voice the Nasu Squad characters in the World Trigger anime.

Shouji will voice Tomoko Kumagai (left), the squad's attacker. Kuwashima will provide the voice for Rei Nasu (center), a shooter and the unit's commanding officer. Ikki will voice Akane Hiura (right), a sniper for the squad.

The characters will appear in the show's episodes premiering August 16 and 23.

All three voice actresses for the Nasu squad members have voiced other characters in World Trigger. Their other roles in the show include:

• Shouji as Mizunuma-sensei, Itsuki Fujisawa, and Yuu Kunichika
• Kuwashima as Kyouko Sawamura
• Ikki as Ren Tsukimi

Daisuke Ashihara's original World Trigger manga debuted in 2013's 11th issue of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media added the series to its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the fifth print volume on April 7.

A new series of the World Trigger television anime will premiere in October. The new series has the tentative title of Isekai Kara no Tōbōsha (Fugitives From Another World).

The manga is also inspiring the fighting game World Trigger: Borderless Mission for the PlayStation Vita this year.
