World Trigger Manga Gets PS Vita Fighting Game

Team co-op battles in Mikado City in Bandai Namco Games' 2015 title

The third 2015 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Bandai Namco Games will release the fighting game World Trigger: Borderless Mission for the PlayStation Vita next year. The game will feature team co-op battles.

The setting of the game will be Mikado City, centering on the headquarters of Border. Players can form teams with friends and choose between "countless" strategies based on the team composition and usable triggers for "unlimited" possibilities. Attackers, Shooters, Gunners, and Snipers are available for teams.

World Trigger debuted in last year's 11th issue of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media added the series to its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the first print volume on October 7. Shueisha published the eighth compiled volume in Japan on October 3.

Viz Media describes the series as follows:

Weekly Shonen Jump's newest series is out of this world! A gate to another dimension has burst open, and from it emerge gigantic invincible creatures that threaten all of humanity. Earth's only defense is a mysterious group of warriors who have co-opted the alien technology in order to fight back!

The World Trigger television anime from Toei Animation premiered on October 5 at 6:30 a.m. on the TV Asahi station and its affiliates.
