Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga

Tamaki Kasuga's parents have transferred overseas and she has been sent to live with her Grandmother in a small village. However Tamaki soon discovers that her family has a long running history with the supernatural as she is the Tamayori Princess, royalty responsible for keeping the sword Onikirimaru sealed to protect the world from it's fearsome power. And with people after the sword's power, it's a good thing that the Tamayori Princess has five guardians from the Shogogo family to protect her.

The second season of Hiiro no Kakera (Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga 2) continues the story of Tamaki the Tamayori Princess and her protectors. As the monster within Takuma begins to rise, Tamaki realizes that she loves him. However, Logos and allies they once trusted will do anything they can to separate the two. Everything from the past is revealed, and all that's left is to clear the way for a bright future. That is, if it's still possible.

Based on the Playstation 2 Japanese otome game visual novel published by Idea Factory in 2006, this 13 episode series was directed by Bob Shirohata (Hetalia - Axis Powers, Gravitation) at Studio DEEN. Yoshiko Nakamura (Hakuōki, Junjō Romantica) scripted the series and Naoyuki Onda (Gantz, Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen I: Haō no Tamago) adapted Yone Kazuki's (Hakuōki) original character designs and served as the chief animation director. The cast for the original game, aside from the protagonist, reprised their roles for the series.

Season 1 was originally announced by Hanabee in January 2013 through a search on their website and released in April that year. Season 2 was announced in August at SMASH and released in December 2013. Both series have been streamed on Crunchyroll. The series has been released by Sentai Filmworks in North America.

Hanabee will release Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga on the 4th of March 2015. The collection will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and contain all 26 episodes from both seasons with English dub and Japanese Audio with English subtitles. You can view Hanabee's press-release here.
