Rina Satō to take over Chisato Saeki role in PS3/Vita port with full-voicing

Game developer Kaga Create announced that Rina Satō is replacing Eri Kitamura in its Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui voice cast, due to Kitamura's poor health during production. Kitamura had played Chisato Saeki, Natsumi's classmate, in the earlier Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna release.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui, a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita port, will ship on March 12 in Japan. The physical PlayStation 3 version will retail for 7,980 yen (about US$68), and the downloadable version will sell for 7,000 yen (about US$60). The physical PlayStation Vita version will retail for 6,980 yen (about US$59), and the downloadable version for 6,000 yen (about US$51).

The game is a complete port that contains all past scenarios that were included in previous versions of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni game. The new version will also have new features, such as cross platform saving, and will be full-voiced.

The voice cast includes:

Souichiro Hoshi as Keiichi Maebara

Mai Nakahara as Rena Ryugu

Satsuki Yukino as Mion Sonozaki (left) and Shion Sonozaki (right)

Mika Kanai as Satoko Houjou

Yukari Tamura as Rika Furude

Original creator Ryūkishi07 and his dojin circle 07th Expansion released a new installment in the series titled Higurashi no Naku Koro ni in August.

07th Expansion's original Higurashi no Naku Koro ni visual novel software launched for PC in 2002 and revolved around murders that coincide with an annual festival in a quiet rural village. The software inspired two television anime series, several video anime projects, two live-action films, and manga adaptations by several artists.
