Noitamina began streaming a commercial on Thursday confirming a 2015 anime film adaptation of late science fiction author Project Itoh's novel Genocidal Organ.
The text in the video reads:
Project Itoh, who left us all too soon. Born 1974, passed away 2009.What he saw was
A world chained by strife and hatred and a program to violently eradicate humans
The genocide program
That unleashed hell
Genocidal Organ: 2015 anime film adaptation
We will live the world he created
Fuji TV opened a teaser website in March to announce an anime film project for Project Itoh, but did not specify what the film would be.
Project Itoh released Genocidal Organ as his debut novel in 2007. The Japanese film website Cinema Today reported in 2012 that film adaptation rights were being pitched in Hollywood. The story follows American intelligence agent Clavis Shepard as he tracks supposed mastermind terrorist John Paul in a future world wrought with chaos and violence.
The author's final novel, Harmony, was released in Japan in 2008. Project Itoh wrote Harmony and the novel adaptation of Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots while he was being treated for the cancer that ultimately took his life in 2009.
Viz Media's Haikasoru imprint has published all three of Itoh's full-length novels in English.
