Nisekoi: False Love Manga Gets 2nd TV Anime Season
posted on by Egan Loo
The wraparound jacket band on Naoshi Komi's 14th Nisekoi - False Love manga volume is announcing on Friday that production on a second television anime season has been green-lit. Future issues of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will publish further information.
The manga and the first television anime season revolve around Raku Ichijō (Kōki Uchiyama), a normal high school student who happens to be the heir to a yakuza group. The attractive but violent transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki (Nao Tōyama), the heir to a rival yakuza group, transfers to his class, and the two must pretend to date to keep a war from breaking out between their families.
Komi launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2011 and Viz Media is releasing the manga digitally and in print in North America. Aniplex of America plans to release the first anime season on Blu-ray Disc in November, and Crunchyroll streamed the first anime season as it aired in Japan.
The 14th manga volume is also bundling an original video anime (OVA) on DVD, and the 16th volume will bundle an OVA as well. Chief director Akiyuki Shinbo, director Naoyuki Tatsuwa, character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama, the anime studio SHAFT, and the main cast are all returning for the OVAs after working on the television anime.
