BlazBlue Universe's XBlaze Code: Embryo Visual Novel Heads to N. America

Aksys Games announced on Tuesday that it is bringing the XBlaze Code: Embryo visual novel to North America on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita systems this summer.
Arc System Works' "adventure of blue fate" begins 150 years before the events of the main BlazBlue story. High school boy Tōya (voiced by Yukitoshi Kikuchi) is drawn by the sound of a bell into an abandoned facility involved in a dangerous incident in the past. There, he finds a man who is groaning in pain. When he asks if the man is OK, the man attacks him. At the moment he thought that he would die, a small girl with a sword named Es (voiced by Mayuka Nomura) appears and saves him.
Producer Toshimichi Mori led his BlazBlue team on this brand-new project, and he indicated that Xblaze Code: Embryo has ties to the story world of BlazBlue. The other staff members include director Hiroaki Masuzawa and character designer Konomi Higuchi. Megu Sakuragawa (Campione!, Love Live! School idol project) sings the opening theme song with lyrics by RUCCA and music by Daisuke Kikuta of Elements Garden in the first video above.
The game debuted in Japan last July. Aksys announced on Monday that it is releasing BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma on PS Vita, in addition to the PlayStation 3 version.
