posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The first trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Ayu Watanabe's L DK shōjo manga began streaming on Friday. The film stars Ayame Gōriki (Black Butler, Gatchaman, Mirai Nikki- Another: World) as Aoi and Kento Yamazaki (Kyō, Koi wo Hajimemasu) as love-interest Shūsei. The trailer features the theme song "Kimi-iro Days" by Honey L Days.
Yasuhiro Kawamura (live-action Nodame Cantabile, Himitsu no Akko-chan films) is directing the film, and Yūko Matsuda (live-action Gokusen series) is handling the scripts. The film will open on April 12.
The manga follows Aoi, a high school girl who lives by herself. Through one circumstance after another, she ends up living under the same roof with the "prince" of her school, Shūsei. (The manga's title is a wordplay on "LDK," the abbreviation for "living room, dining room, kitchen" in Japanese apartment ads.)
Watanabe launched the manga in 2009, and Kodansha published the 13th compiled book volume on September 13. The manga has more than 2.7 million copies in print.
