New DLC trailer previews Cloud, Aerith, Yuna's costumes for Lightning

Sony began streaming a "Guided Tour" trailer on Tuesday for the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII role-playing game. The trailer explains the basic plot and gameplay of the game.

Square Enix also began streaming a second Japanese DLC trailer on Monday. The second set of DLC includes Cloud's "Soldier 1st," Aerith's "Midgar Flower Vendor," and Yuna's "Sphere Hunter" outfits. Each outfit includes clothing, a weapon, and a shield, and they can be purchased for 400 yen (about US$4) each or all three sets for 1,000 yen (US$10). The first set of DLC also included three costume sets.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII shipped in Japan last month. The game will arrive in the United States for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 11, 2014, and then in Europe on February 14, 2014, and the English release will feature a collector's edition with an 80-page hardcover artbook, a silver-embossed pocket watch, and a DLC code for an Aerith Gainsborough costume for Lightning. The game's release in the Americas and Europe will also feature the Japanese audio track as DLC that will be free for the first two weeks after the game ships.

Players who pre-order the game in North America and Europe will be able to unlock Cloud's uniform and buster sword as equipment for Lightning. Lightning is also getting a Yuna costume from Final Fantasy X and various samurai costumes, as well as a Miqo'te costume from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn with shields with motifs from the game's three city-states: Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning's story. The game centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.
