2nd Tiger & Bunny Film's Full Trailer, More of Cast Unveiled

posted on by Egan Loo
Nana Mizuki, Rikiya Koyama, Mugihito join cast as 3 NEXTs who attack Sternbild

The official website for the Tiger & Bunny anime posted a full trailer for the upcoming Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- film on Saturday. The trailer features the film's theme song "harmonized finale" by Unison Square Garden.

When Kotetsu tells Barnaby he's going to quit being a hero in the trailer, Barnaby asks Kotetsu if his feelings of being a hero were really that cheap. Kotetsu's daughter asks him, "Are you doing what you want? Are you doing what you can?" The text in the trailer reads "Each has their own justice... Each has their own things to protect..." In the end of the trailer, Barnaby says, "The one I want to save... is you."

The trailer introduces the three mysterious NEXT characters who attack Sternbild City.

Rikiya Koyama plays Richard Max, a NEXT with powerful physique

Mugihito plays the strange old man Johnny Wong

Nana Mizuki plays the mysterious, exotic woman Kasha Graham

Houchu Ohtsuka plays Mark Schneider, the successful and charismatic new owner of Apollon Media

The film will revolve around a mystery that happens on the day of the "Justice Day" festival that celebrates Sternbild's legendary goddess. Yūichi Nakamura joins the cast as Golden Ryan, Barnaby Brooks Jr.'s new partner in the film. Character designer Masakazu Katsura (Zetman, Video Girl Ai, DNA²) will also be making his voice-acting debut in a cameo for the new movie.

The film will again star Hiroaki Hirata as Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, Masakazu Morita as Barnaby Brooks Jr., Kōji Yusa as Lunatic, Rina Hidaka as Kaede Kaburagi, and other returning cast members. The television series scriptwriter Masafumi Nishida is again writing the screenplay and serving as story director, while Yoshitomo Yonetani is directing the film.

The film was originally scheduled to open this fall but has been delayed until February 8, 2014. Viz will screen the film theatrically in North America within the same month that the film opens in Japan.
