Kick-Heart Producer: Film Will Try For Annie Award

Kick-Heart producer Justin Leach reported last week that the staff will submit the film for the 41st Annual Annie Awards. The The International Animated Film Society and ASIFA-Hollywood will begin accepting submissions on September 3.

Studio Ghibli's From Up On Poppy Hill was nominated last year but lost to Wreck-It Ralph.

Masaaki Yuasa's Kick-Heart anime short won Best Animated Short Film at Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival earlier this month and the Original Design Award at the Animation Block Party in New York in July.
