The American incarnation of the Japan Expo convention announced on Tuesday that it will host singer You Kikkawa as a musical guest and the convention's official reporter.
Kikkawa joined the Hello! Project Egg musical training unit in 2007. The following year she made her musical debut in the trio MilkyWay, performing two opening and two ending themes for the idol anime Kirarin Revolution. She made her musical solo debut in 2011 and released the single "Darling to Madonna," which was used as the second ending theme in the 2012 anime Sengoku Collection.
Kikkawa will hold panels, perform a concert, and sign autographs at the convention.
The American version of Japan Expo will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Northern California from August 23 to August 25. Its other guests include Evangelion manga creator and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and manga creator and character designer Yuusuke Kozaki (Donyatsu, Fire Emblem Awakening, No More Heroes). This will be the first convention run by SEFA Entertainment, the United States subsidiary of SEFA Event. SEFA holds the main Japan Expo in France, where the event drew "219,614 certified attendees in 2012."
