Urasawa's 20th Century Boys Wins 2nd Eisner Award

Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys won the Eisner Award in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material - Asia category at Comic-Con International on Friday. This is the second Eisner win for Urasawa and 20th Century Boys. The manga was competing against Osamu Tezuka's Barbara, Shigeru Mizuki's NonNonBâ, Mari Yamazaki's Thermae Romae, and Li Kunwu and P. Ôtié's A Chinese Life graphic novels.
20th Century Boys was nominated last year in the Best Continuing Series category but lost to Daredevil by Mark Waid, Marcos Martin, Paolo Rivera, and Joe Rivera.
Katsuya Terada was nominated for Best Painter/Multimedia Artist (interior art) for The Monkey King volume 2, released by Dark Horse Comics but lost to Juanjo Guarnido's Blacksad.
Similary, Shigeru Mizuki's Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths was won in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material - Asia last year.
