Time of Eve BD Raises US$215,433, Hires NYAV Post for Dub
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Pied Piper, Directions, and Studio Rikka's Time of Eve Blu-ray Disc Kickstarter campaign ended on Saturday with $215,433 in pledges raised (1,196% of the original funding goal) from 2,711 backers. The staff also revealed that the release's English dub will be produced by Michael Sinterniklaas at NYAV Post. Sinterniklaas produced a Kickstarter video to share his excitement for the project.
The partners reached their original US$18,000 goal for an international Blu-ray Disc on May 25, less than 24 hours after the campaign began. The campaign added and surpassed the stretch goals for an English dub, subtitles in at least nine languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese), video bonuses of director Yasuhiro Yoshiura's previous short works Mizu no Kotoba (Aquatic Language) and Pale Cocoon, and a translated version of the Time of Eve Official Fan Book with Yoshiura's original short story “act0.5:SAME.”
Mizu no Kotoba (Aquatic Language) and Pale Cocoon will be included in a physical format (on an additional DVD or as a Blu-ray special feature) after campaign staff initially planned to release them as digital downloads with DRM. The Blu-ray will be released with the soundtrack CD in January 2014 for campaign backers, followed by a general release of the film and fan book to the public next spring. The campaign surpassed the US$201,164 in pledges raised for Masaaki Yuasa's Kick-Heart campaign.
