posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Liverpool (Boku, Otaryman, I''s Pure) production company is releasing an original Flash anime adaptation of Tenhō Iwatani's Mikosuri Han-Gekijō four-panel gag manga on DVD on March 21. The 27-minute show will feature three minutes of bonus footage and will cost 1,500 yen (US$15.60). Hiroaki Magari (manga creator of Majokko Tsukune-chan) is directing the anime.
The anime will star Ryōtarō Okiayu, Yuka Komatsu, Kazunari Tanaka, and Kimiko Saitō.
Bunkasha Publishing Co., Ltd. publishes the original series in Japan. JManga has published the first chapter of the manga in Japanese, and the website describes the series as follows:
"Mikosuri Han-Gekijō" gathers, with a sublime art of humor, the nonchalance found in human kind's everyday lives into this gag manga. Businessmen. Ninjas. Samurai. Men and Women. A fabric of human relationships, interwoven by a host of characters, sharply cut and translated into a manga. Gut-wrenching laughter! A 100% crack-up! When you're down, during hard times, or just in a bad mood, a read of "Mikosuri Han-Gekijō" is sure to pick you up!! ... Young or old, male or female, this comic is loaded with non-stop under the belt gags!
Liverpool previously adapted the Fujoshi no Hinkaku essay manga and Kyūshū Danji's Kachō no Koi (Manager's Love) boys-love gag manga into a Flash anime on DVD in 2010.
