Nintendo Confirms Wii Mini Release in UK

Nintendo confirmed that it will also sell the Wii Mini console in the United Kingdom, starting on March 22. The console was briefly listed and then removed from the drop-down menu on Nintendo's British website for the Wii console.
The scaled-down entertainment system was released exclusively in Canada for the holiday season last year. The smaller, red Wii Mini does not play GameCube titles and does not support online net access. Nintendo UK plans to release budget Wii titles such as Wii Sports Resort, Mario Power Tennis, Super Paper Mario and Mario Party 8.
James Honeywell, the head of consumer marketing for Nintendo's United Kingdom branch, said in December there were no plans to release the Wii Mini console outside of Canada.
Nintendo's latest console, the Wii U, launched in North America on November 18, in the United Kingdom on November 30, and in Japan on December 8.
