Mitsubishi Opens New York-Based Properties Arm
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Mitsubishi, the owner of production company d-rights, is opening a New York-based property management company to handle its U.S. programming and properties. The company, dubbed Sunrights, is helmed by Hiroya Nishimura. The company will manage U.S. properties but is also looking to manage third-party properties and establish original content for North American and European audiences.
“We are looking for any kind of product and are not limited to boys' animation,” says Sunrights president Hiroya Nishimura. “We want to handle other types of preschool programming or girls programming, and we want to be aggressive.”
d-rights is the production company behind anime series like Beyblade, Scan2Go, and Cross Fight B-Daman.
