posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The anime studio Production I.G will produce the anime cutscenes for Tales of Hearts R, the PlayStation Vita remake of the original Tales of Hearts Nintendo DS role-playing game.
Famitsu has posted more than 30 screenshots from the studio's animated cutscenes for the game.
Tales of Hearts R will have Calcedny Arcome, a former non-player character voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, as a party character this time. Shing Meteoryte (Tetsuya Kakihara) will still be the protagonist, but the main scenario will be fully voiced with 10 new animated story events. Additional cast members include Marina Inoue as Kohak Hearts, Masaya Matsukaze as Hisui Hearts, Saeko Chiba as Beryl Benito, Shizuka Itou as Innes Lorenz, and Hozumi Gōda as Kunzite.
The graphics, backgrounds, character models, and battle system will also be upgraded. The battle system will also feature 3D graphics and a "chase link" mode that will allow players to make aerial attacks if certain conditions are met. The new game will also include a field map.
Namco Bandai Games will ship Tales of Hearts R on March 7 in a standard edition for 6,480 yen (about US$77) and a "Link" Edition for 9,980 yen (US$119). A download-only edition will also be available for 5,830 yen (US$69).
