Fafner/Mardock Scramble's Ubukata Pens Film, TV Anime for 2013
posted on by Egan Loo
The 2013 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Mystery ga Sugoi! book published a message from author Tow Ubukata on Saturday. In the message, he revealed that he has plans to release both film and television anime projects in development for the Summer-Fall 2013 timeframe.
Ubukata is also launching Hana to Yume, his first novel serialized in newspapers, on Monday. The historical novel (with no relation to Hakusensha's similarly named manga magazine) centers around the real-life author and poet Sei Shōnagon.
Ubukata created the stories behind the Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Heroic Age, Pilgrim Jäger, and Mardock Scramble anime and manga projects. Viz Media is publishing the original Mardock Scramble novel in North America. Tenchi Meisatsu, his historical novel about the real-life Edo-era mathematician Shunkai Shibukawa, inspired Tenchi: The Samurai Astronomer film this year.
