Cowboy Bebop Helmer Shinichiro Watanabe, MAPPA Plan New TV Anime

Macross Plus/Kids on the Slope director works with Madhouse founder's new studio

MAPPA, the new anime studio headed by Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama, confirmed with ANN on Monday that it is working with director Shinichiro Watanabe (Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Kids on the Slope) on an original television anime series. MAPPA said that the broadcast timeframe of the new series has not been decided.

Watanabe appeared at the FicZone event, which ran from Friday to Saturday at Granada in Andalucia, Spain. ANN is awaiting confirmation of the reports of another new television series for Watanabe.
