posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for the 20th anniversary of Yōzaburō Kanari and Fumiya Sato's Kindaichi Case Files (Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo) detective manga began streaming a promotional video on Tuesday for the two original anime DVDs that will ship with the 20th-anniversary reprint of the manga.
Toshiaki Komura (Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo episode director, Ultimate Muscle director) will direct the anime, Isao Murayama (Toriko, Gon) will handle the scenario, and Akihiro Asanuma (Digimon Xros Wars) will handle the character design. Toei Animation will produce the animation.
The cast will remain the same from the television anime series. The two DVDs will adapt the manga's Kuromajutsu Satsujin Jiken (Black Magic Murder Case) story arc.
The first DVD will be bundled with the limited-edition of the 20th anniversary edition of the third manga volume, which will ship on December 17. The second DVD will be bundled with the limited-edition of the fourth volume, which ships on March 15. Both volumes will retail for 3,280 yen (about US$42).
Tokyopop published part of the manga in North America.
