Ryukishi07's Rose Guns Days Game Gets Manga Adaptation
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The September issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine began serialization on a manga adaptation of Ryukishi07 and 07th Expansion's Rose Guns Days novel game on Wednesday.
Sōichirō (Umineko When They Cry manga) will draw the art for the new Rose Guns Days Season One manga. Sōichirō worked as a character designer for the Rose Guns Days game.
The original game's story takes place in Japan after World War II. Devastated in the aftermath of defeat, the Japanese government complies with the Allies' reconstruction plan. Japan begins to recover from the loss after a few years, but America and China intricately divide control of the nation on a municipal level. The many Chinese and American immigrants make Japanese people the minority in their own land.
A girl named Rose Haibara works at the club Primavera and lends money to Japanese people so that they can rebuild their lives. Some people take advantage of that generosity. Meanwhile, Leo Shishigami is best known for his reputation among women. Everything begins to change when that legendary man meets Rose in the spring of 1947.
Ryukishi07 (Higurashi: When They Cry) announced the latest game from his dōjin (self-publishing) circle 07th Expansion in January. 07th Expansion released the game on August 11.
The same September issue of Gangan Joker also revealed that namo will begin serialization on the Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls manga in the magazine's October issue on September 22.
