Fractale's story is set on an island at the far reaches of a continent where the "Fractale System" is on the brink of collapse. A boy named Clain embarks on a journey to search for Phyrne — a girl who disappeared, leaving behind only a pendant. Clain will eventually learn the secrets of the "System." Yutaka Yamamoto directed the anime animated by his studio Ordet, while Hiroki Azuma acted as its story developer and Mari Okada (Kuroshitsuji, Toradora!) supervised the series script. The anime series originally aired during the Noitamina television block on Japan's Fuji TV.
The manga adaptation of the series ended in Japan in November of last year, while Fractale/Reloaded, a spinoff novelization of the series written by Hiroki Azuma and set 200 years after the events of the series, was serialized from February to May of last year.
Funimation is also streaming an English dubbed trailer for the series.
