Live-Action Bakugyaku Familia Film's Trailer Streamed

The Cinema Today website began streaming a 75-second trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Hiroshi Tanaka's Bakugyaku Familia manga on Thursday. The video features the theme song "Kohaku no Sora" performed by the Japanese rock band 10-FEET.
The story centers on former teenage troublemakers who have grown up as a family. Kazuyoshi Kumakiri (Freesia, Kaitanshi Jokei) is directing the adaptation, and Takashi Ujida (Sketches of Kaitan City, Michiko to Hatchin) is providing the script. Comedian/actor Yoshimi Toku leads the cast as Tetsu, the gang's former leader. Kento Hayashi plays his son Shuhei. Other members of the cast includes Sadao Abe, Tetsuji Tamayama, Nao Ōmori, Kazuki Kitamura, ARATA, and Mitsuko Baisho.
The original manga series ran from 1994 to 2004 in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine magazine and amassed a total of 11 volumes.
Bakugyaku Kazoku will open in theaters across Japan on September 8. The film premiered at the 4th Okinawa International Movie Festival on March 30.
