Bakugyaku Kazoku Manga Gets Live-Action Film

Yoshimi Toku stars as ex-gang leader in story by Bad Boys creator Hiroshi Tanaka
A live-action film adaptation of Bakugyaku Kazoku (Bakugyaku Family), Hiroshi Tanaka's manga about former teenage troublemakers who have grown up as a family, will open in November. Comedian/actor Yoshimi Toku leads the cast as Tetsu, the gang's former leader. Kento Hayashi plays his son Shuhei. Other members of the cast includes Sadao Abe, Tetsuji Tamayama, Nao Ōmori, Kazuki Kitamura, ARATA, and Mitsuko Baisho.
The original manga series ran from 1994 to 2004 in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine magazine and amassed a total of 11 volumes. Kazuyoshi Kumakiri (Freesia, Kaitanshi Jokei) is directing the film.
