Iijime Shōjo Manga on Childhood Bullying Gets Anime DVD
posted on by Egan Loo
The February issue of Shogakukan's Ciao shōjo magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the next issue will bundle a DVD with a special anime of Kaoru Igarashi's Ijime manga on February 3. Igarashi launched the manga series with Ijime - Hitoribocchi no Tatakai (Childhood Bullying: The Lonely Fight) in 2007 to deal with childhood bullying (Ijime), and the fifth manga volume shipped in September. The "Ijime: Ikenie no Kyōshitsu" (Childhood Bullying: The Sacrificial Classroom) anime deals with Sera, a girl who is treated like a queen in a school that is her "castle."
The DVD also contains the eighth anime installment ("Chocolat no Mahō ~Gatō Opera Utahime no Yūwaku~" or The Magic of Chocolate: The Temptation of the Opera Songstress Gatō) of Rino Mizuho's The Magic of Chocolate manga and the seventh anime installment ("Hime Gal Paradise ~Tokimeki~(///∇//) Valentine wa Sushi de Oni Age! Da yo~" or Hime Gal Paradise: Heart-Pounding Valentine Is a Devil for Sushi!) of Akira Wao's Hime Gal Paradise manga. "Kiken na Valentine" (Dangerous Valentine), the ninth installment of the live-action series Secret Girls, rounds out the DVD.
