posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese game company Nihon Falcom has opened a website to announce on Wednesday that an original anime adaptation of its Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki (The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky) role-playing game franchise has been green-lit.
Masaki Tachibana (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, .hack//Quantum) is directing off scripts supervised and written by Makoto Uezu (Katanagatari, School Days, Utawarerumono). Atsuko Nozaki (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) is designing the characters at Kinema Citrus (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, .hack//Quantum), and Emotion is producing the anime.
Purchasers of Shinki Kitsutsuki's first manga volume based on the games were already offered a chance to obtain an animated promotional video on DVD. Nihon Falcom had listed "anime" in its planned expansion of the Sora no Kiseki brand during the current fiscal year, which will end in September of 2011.
Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki has sold over one million copies. Xseed Games plans to release the Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki game trilogy under the title The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on the Sony PSP console in North America. Nihon Falcom is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
