Gunpla Builders, CG Gatchaman Promo Videos Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website of Bandai's Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders project has begun streaming a two-minute teaser video on Thursday. The project will mark the 30th anniversary of the Gundam plastic model kit ("Gunpla") this summer with a three-part Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G anime series and a manga series. The main character of the story is Haru Irei, a boy who becomes a "Gunpla Builder" after a fateful encounter with the Beginning Gundam plastic model. The Gundam anime studio Sunrise is planning and producing the project with director Kou Matsuo (Kure-nai, Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record: Avant-Title). An all-star lineup of mechanical designers — Kunio Ōkawara (1st Gundam, Votoms), Atsushi Shigeta (Turn A Gundam), Kanetake Ebikawa (Kiddy Grade, Gundam 00), and Junichi Akutsu/Bee-Craft (Code Geass, Gundam Seed) — is also contributing. The anime will premiere in August.
IMAGI International Holdings, the parent company of the studio that produced the computer-animated Astro Boy film, has posted a new one-minute teaser video for the proposed computer-animated Gatchaman film. IMAGI has undergone massive restructuring this year, but the website says that the Gatchaman project is currently in pre-production. The project would adapt Tatsunoko Production's Science Ninja Team Gatchaman anime series.
