Himeka to Perform at Montreal's OtakuThon in August
posted on by Gia Manry
Catherine St-Onge, the Quebec native and J-pop singer who records under the name HIMEKA, will attend Montreal's OtakuThon from August 13-15 to perform and hold autograph sessions. It will be her first trip back to her home country in over two years.
The 28-year-old Canadian moved to Japan in 2008 and won Animax's second annual Anison (anime song) Grand Prix that same year. The win earned her the chance to debut with an anime theme song.
She sang the opening theme for the anime adaptation of video game Valkyria Chronicles, "Asu e no Kizuna," and followed it up with the first ending theme to Letter Bee, titled "Hatenaki Michi." Most recently, she performed the ending theme for the anime series Senkō no Night Raid, "Mirai e."
