Sasameki Koto Yuri Anime Kissing Game Offered on iPhone
posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Tachyon game company began offering the official "Sasame Kisscomi" kissing game, based on the upcoming Sasameki Koto yuri anime series, for free on Apple's online App Store on Wednesday. The application is available in English or in Japanese for iPhone and iPod touch mobile devices. (The Japanese dialogue is subtitled in English in the version distributed in the American side of the App Store.)
In the game, the user can practice kissing an onscreen portrait of the character Ushio Kazama. Tachyon offers the following "safety guideline" upon the app's launch: "Moisture (perspiration, saliva, etc.) may cause the iPhone/iPod touch to slip. Please be sure hands and lips are not wet when using this game." The app judges the user's kisses on skill level. The app also offers 27 free pages of manga, as well as limited items for successful kissing. It was the #2 app in the Japanese App Store upon its debut.
The anime adapts Takashi Ikeda's manga about Sumika, a popular high school honors student who has a secret she does not reveal to anyone: she loves her classmate Ushio. Sumika hears that Ushio is also "a girl who likes girls," but Sumika's feelings have yet to be reciprocated. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 7.
