Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, March 3-9

Paco and the Magical Book, the surreal live-action fantasy film from director Tetsuya Nakashima (Kamikaze Girls), sold 15,429 copies of its regular edition and 11,265 copies of its special edition (pictured at right). The two editions placed #7 and #9, respectively. The DVD-Box for the live-action television adaptation of Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Sato's Tantei Gakuen Q (Detective School Q) mystery manga sold 7,134 copies to place at #13. The Oscar win for Kunio Katō's "La Maison en Petits Cubes" animated short propelled its DVD onto the chart, even though the DVD was released back in October.
