Hetalia Axis Powers Web Manga to Run in Comic Birz Mag (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Hidekaz Himaruya's Hetalia - Axis Powers comedy web manga will start running new installments in Gentosha's Comic Birz magazine in the April issue, which will ship on February 28. The manga anthropomorphizes about 20 countries and regions into (mostly) bishōnen characters to tell short gag stories set in various historical eras. The contents of the magazine's version of the manga will be different from what Himaruya posts on his own personal website.
Gentosha already publishes the original web manga in two compiled book volumes, which have sold over 500,000 copies. The Animate company just premiered the anime version this week on its website and on Japanese mobile phones. The anime was also slated for Japanese television, but the Kids Station channel cancelled its plans "due to various circumstances."

Update: Comic Natalie has corrected its article to now state that Himaruya's new manga will not be Hetalia. The actual Comic Birz magazine issue provides more details about the new Chibisan Date manga.
